Stardate:2406.05.17 Mission: A Trip to Paradise Mission, Day 3 Stardate: 2406.05.17 (USS Nimitz - Deck 12- CO -Captain Devan Sash - 0705) Tannasg just left the turbolift and was heading for the docking bay when he received a signal from Sash. "Sash to Tannasg, where are the rest of those prisoners." He tapped his combadge. "This is Tannasg, they're on deck 12, trying to get to the captain's yacht. I'm on deck 12 myself now, heading for the docking bay..." "Good, meet me outside the docking bay for the yacht with your team. Sash out." ~Allright then~Tannasg thought as he took another few steps. He was standing just outside the docking bay. Even though he wanted to go in himself, he knew he wouldn't stand a big chance against several enemies. Sash raced down the corridors towards the docking bay for the captain's personal yacht. He had felt awkward at even having suck a frivolity on the ship, but didn't have the heart to have it removed. =^=CONN to Captain, Sir I have the engines warming up just in case you need them.=^= "Thank you, Ensign," the captain replied, "I hope that won't be neccesary." He rounded a corner to find Tannasg waiting for him. he stopped to catch his breath. "Report Mr. Tannasg." "They are inside the docking bay area, near the Yacht." Tannasg pulled out two small federation phasers from his pockets which he picked up on his way to the Yacht. "Here sir, maybe we'll need these." Tannasg looked around for a second, but there was no one there but themselves. Sash took the phaser and checked the setting. "make sure you're on stun setting," he ordered, "I want them alive." (reply Tannasg) It took a moment before the security team arrived. Once they were there he gave the same orders. "I want every effort taken to keep them alive, is that understood." Everyone nodded. Sash could feel the tension mounting. He hit his com badge. "Computer, over ride door lock out on captain's yacht docking bay. Deactivate all federation weaponry inside the docking bay." The computer beep in acknowledgement and the doors slid open. They entered the docking bay carefully. He wasn't foolish enough to think that simply because they didn't have access to energy weapons that they were defenseless. He knew he wouldn't be. He caught a slight movement out of the corner of his eye and turned just in time for sharp docking knife to fly by him and hit the wall. Suddenly the alternate crew were on them. (reply Tannasg, alters-Sevant, Falthgood, Winters) (posted by Al Muir) Stardate:2406.05.17 Mission: A Trip to Paradise Mission, Day 3 Stardate: 2406.05.17 (USS Nimitz - Deck 12- OPS – Ensign Tannasg - 0710) The moment the docking bay doors opened and they went inside, Tannasg saw a knife fly past them. It nearly hit the captain, but he could see Sash was still al right. The Romulan didn’t pay much attention to the captain from that moment. He was sure Sash could hold his own. He quietly moved through along the side of the docking bay, sneaking towards the yacht. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Sash talking with a woman standing in the middle of the bay. ~That’s one, where are the others…~ Suddenly he noticed another man who was hiding behind a crate, near the entrance of the yacht. Tannasg couldn’t see who it was, but when he came closer he recognized him as Sevant. He came within a few metres of the man without being detected. Tannasg examined the situation. There was no way he could get behind Sevant unnoticed, or even TO Sevant without being seen. He could either shoot Sevant, or go to an all out combat with him. Tannasg preferred to be on the safe side, and aimed his phaser at Sevant. But before he could shoot, Sevant somehow saw Tannasg and threw a small crate at him. The Romulan ducked and saw the crate fly past him. He didn’t bother to look where it went, but took advantage of the situation. He threw his phaser away, making sure it wasn’t getting in the way, nor Sevant could steal it from him and use it against him. He quietly walked towards Sevant, clearly to be seen, almost encouraging the man to attack him again. Sevant too stood up, and moved towards Tannasg. He had his hands behind his back, and Tannasg suspected him to have another knife. They were a meter away from each other when Sevant pulled his arm from his back. It wasn’t a knife after all, but a small but sharp engineering tool. Tannasg smiled, and waited for Sevant to attack first. He didn’t have to wait very long, two seconds after he pulled his arm forward, Sevant threw the first punch. If Tannasg had stayed in the same place he was a second earlier, the tool would have sliced his face open. But the Romulan rolled around, and kicked Sevant in the knees. Sevant fell to the floor, but quickly rose again, swinging his homemade knife around. Tannasg evaded all the attacks, dancing around Sevant, waiting for the opportunity to prevent itself. When Sevant came rushing towards him, Tannasg didn’t move. He took Sevants arm and pulled. It unbalanced Sevant, and Tannasg knocked him out with a quick blow to the side of his head. At least, he thought he knocked Sevant out. But the man saw something on the floor and crawled towards it. It didn’t take Tannasg long to realise it must be the phaser he had thrown away earlier. The Romulan rushed towards it, getting to it, just a split second before Sevant could. He aimed it at Sevant, shaking his head. But Sevant didn’t give up, he smiled and wanted to throw a last punch at Tannasg, hoping the Romulan wouldn’t shoot him. He didn’t shoot, but smacked Sevant on the side of his head with the phaser, leaving the man unconscious. Tannasg checked one last time, making sure his opponent was out, before putting the phaser away. He stood up, and looked around him. He saw Sash who was holding his arm, which was coloured red. He also saw two others lying on the ground. The man was stabbed, the woman seemed to be just unconscious. A few moments later, the security team came in, taking the unconscious Winters and Sevant with them. Tannasg walked over to the captain and looked at him. “Are you al right sir?” he asked. (reply Sash) Tannasg nodded, and left the docking bay, returning to his ‘normal’ duties on the bridge. (reply none) (posted by Maik de Bresser) Stardate:2406.05.17 (USS Nimitz - Deck 12- CO - Captain Devan Sash- 0710) Sash rolled across the floor to avoid another attack. He looked over to see Tannasg disappear around the ship. Then he turned his attention back to the direction that the knife came from. To his surprise there was somebody standing in the open, not being very threatening. To his even greater surprise was that it was Vanyssa Winters. But it wasn't Nessa. She was almost identical, but carried an air around her. Not as much danger as sensual. Her movements, and walk exuded with a sexual overtone. Sash checked himself to make certain that there was no telepathic influence going on in his mind. He stood up and cautiously moved into the open. There appeared to be no psychic threat to him so he continued to get closer to her. "You won't hurt me," she said. "And why is that," Sash asked. "Because you can't help yourself," came the response, sounding disgusted. "You still see me as her, and think that I can be "saved". You still care for me, even though you know I'm not her." "What do you hope to gain by this action?" Sash asked. "To get what everyone wants," she replied. "To go home." "I cannot allow that," Sahs informed her. "I know," she said simply. That was when he caught the flashin his mind. She hadn't been trying to attack him but simply maintain his full attention. She had been using her telepathic ability to keep him from noticing the attack from behind. With reflexes born from genetic manipulation and training he barely managed to avoid the dagger that had been aimed at his back. Rather than digging deep into his body, it simply slashed open his arm. It was a flesh woulnd, Sash knew, but it sure offered a lot of blood. Sash cursed himself for being so foolish. But he didn't have time for self recriminations. The dagger was coming back at his chest. Sash grabbed the arm holding the weapon and spun around, driving his elbow into Falthgoods abdomen. He could hear the air explode from the alters lungs. The dagger fell to the ground. He should have expected the second knife, but didn't. Suddenly there it was coming towards him from the other side. Winters had chosen that moment to attack. Still holding onto Falthgood's arm he spun the man around and drove him into Winter's attack. Her knife lodged itself deep in her lover. She stepped back in shock and horror at what she had done. Falthgood feel to his knees and looked up at her with pleading eyes. His hand reached out to her. He opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. Then he croaked, "I... love...you." He then fell to the deck floor, dead. Winters looked from the body of her dead lover to Sash. Sudden rage came to her face as she screamed. He could feel the anger in her mind as she tried to reach into his. He could hear her earlier words ringing in his ears. "You can't hurt me." suddenly Sash leaped forward and drove his fist into Winters face. She flung her head back and fell to the floor, unconscious. He hit his comm badge. "Sash to security, I have one to return to the brig. Sash to sickbay, I have one for the morgue." What can I do for you, Counselor?” =^= "I've been unable to find miss Winters-Dark telepathically. Have you had any better luck?" Lorenzo replied, hoping for some good news. Kinkaid relayed to Salahali that he was going to begin the procedure the old fashion way since there were no possible Betazoids on the ship like Jennah, and that the procedure would take a bit of time to complete if there were no complication to deal with. “Please keep me updated on the condition of Commander Winters.” Salahali said.“Any changes at all must be brought to my attention.” Kinkaid agreed to his statement and went on to describe a possible solution. =^=In theory, it would be possible to recreate Vanyssa’s mind including her telepathic abilities by using the Holo emitters in sickbay and then attach a neurolink between the two causing restoration of her memories that were lost before the trauma, but there would be a brief time loss after the process, which will be fixed during the recovery period.=^=   "Sounds good, but don't take my word for it. Ask the captain first, then let me know when you're ready to start. I'd like to be there when the treatment begins."   (Reply Kinkaid, Sevant if desired) (Posted by Adam) Stardate:2406.05.17 (USS Nimitz – Sickbay –ACMO – Ensign (jg) BigWill Kinkaid – 0820) Kinkaid was at his desk and accessed his log recorder to begin annotating his personal accounts. “Computer, begin log transmission.” Kinkaid stated and started his entry. Assistant Chief Medical Officer log Stardate 2406.05.17: So far, Sickbay has three patients with various injuries. Dr. Fickett has a serious lung infection in which antibiotic are failing to cure while the medical scans are unable to determine what is causing the infection to reoccur after antibiotics have been administered. Fickett, the ship’s doctor, has been bed ridden since the brawl in sickbay with the alternate crewmembers and has been unable to perform his medical duties because of it. So, I’m acting as the ship’s doctor until his recovery. Ensign Kateb is still unconscious but in stable condition as the sedative she received from her fight with the alternate (evil) Fickett starts to loss its potency. Commander Vanyssa Winters is slowing recovering from a telepathic fight on Deck 21. Her scraps and bruises have healed, but it is her brain that is puzzling. The stimulators are healing the neural pathways, but it is her mind and telepathic abilities that is raising the flag. There are no signs her daughter, Jennah, on the ship or any Betazoids with a strong telepathic sense like Vanyssa’s to aid in her recovery. Still, I’m working on a medical theory that uses Holo emitters along with the patient’s medical data to recreate missing thoughts from a severe trauma like amnesia. Only time will tell. “Computer, end log transmission.” Kinkaid ordered. Kinkaid was stressing over the difficulties of getting the Holo emitters to configure the medical data of Commander Vanyssa Winters to perform the link to restore partially or fully her memories. The cortical stimulators were still attached to Vanyssa’s head working to heal her neural pathways, but it was a slow process. If there was something else he could do, he’ll act upon it. Kinkaid started to vent steam when he threw a PADD across the biobed area striking a console panel on the far wall. The PADD struck the panel which in turn activated the emergency medical hologram. [State the nature of the medical emergency.] The EMH stated. Kinkaid turns around and noticed that EMH program had been activated not knowing it was turned on by his PADD throwing action. Kinkaid became red to the face and commenced a verbal attack on the EMT. “What in Perdition Flames are you looking at?! Have you no sense at all of what is at staked, here?! Damn, if I was Cardassian interrogator you will be mind probed into a Ferengie slug!!!” Kinkaid vented. Surprising that by his outburst, it did not awaken Katie Troi who was near her friend, Vanyssa, sleeping soundly. “Computer, end the EMH program, NOW!!!” Kinkaid commanded as he exited sickbay to get some fresh air and gather his thoughts. The small child was doing something to Vanyssa, but he could not make it out from where he was. Kinkaid slowly tiptoed to the biobed near Vanyssa’s and gestured by clearing his throat. The child turned around and looked up at Kinkaid. He realized that his stature and size may have scared the child which he identified as being Jennah Winters-Dark, the daughter of Vanyssa. It was not his intent to scare anyone. Just to figure out what was going on. Jennah said, “I…uh…” as her dark brown Betazoid eyes widen to pitch black. Kinkaid moved closer to Jennah to comfort her. She pleaded, “Don’t tell on me please!” Kinkaid brought a stool over from the adjacent biobed and calmly asked Jennah to have a seat. Kinkaid was not use to dealing with children being around, even as a young boy he was never able to talk to kids his age. It was always to someone older. Now, a grown adult, Kinkaid still has a phobia of talking to small children. (Reply Jennah, anyone) (Posted by Nathan M. Jennah was a bit scared and nervous over what was occurring to her mother, Vanyssa. “Can we go someplace… else?” Jennah asked. She pointed towards Kinkaid’s office. Kinkaid responded to her request, “Sure, Jennah, by all means whatever makes you feel comfortable and safe.” Kinkaid escorted Jennah to his office and both sat down at his desk. “I do understand what you are going through, Jennah and it is hard for you to comprehend fully the situation your mother has been through.” Kinkaid calmly said. Jennah pleaded with Kinkaid. “Is she going to die?” Jennah hoped and prayed that the answer would be no. Kinkaid looked at his monitoring console on his desk to Vanyssa bio readings and turn back to Jennah with a response. “Jennah, your mother is not going to die, surely not on my watch or anyone else’s!” Kinkaid continued, “She is stable, but her telepathic abilities and her mind are not healing right which is causing her to have memory loss or amnesia and unconsciousness. The battle your mother was in had cause her mind to shut down, which is why I need you to be with her and try to help her by using your telepathic sense to comfort her and bring her out of the sleep she is in.” (Reply Jennah, anyone) (Post by Nathan M. But he felt a pain growing inside his chest. He thought it would be best to drop by sickbay for a moment, making sure it was nothing. Even though he was a Romulan and could very well stay on duty, he thought it might be the best course of action. He left his station, winked a young ensign who took over, and left the bridge. ”Sickbay” he said, as the turbolift started moving. (USS Nimitz - Sickbay - OPS Tannasg & OPS Kateb - 1105) Five minutes later he walked inside, he noticed a young human woman lying on one of the biobeds. When he came closer he saw it was Kateb, the part Acamarian female. Even though she'd might have a problem with him being a Romulan as well, he thought it would be good to meet. "Hello ensign. How are you?" "I'm feeling better... the Evil Fickett gave me a weird sedative. How are you? Do you what happen to the other alternate?" "I'm well. The other alternates? The captain and myself managed to prevent Sevant, Winters and Falthgood from escaping the ship. Unfortunately, Falthgood did not survive the encounter." "That's good... How about Nakamura... he went after his double! I don't know where he is." Tannasg thought for a second. "I haven't heard anything from Nakamura..." I can't wait to have them off the ship the faster the better... They are just trouble has they are. I have learn about my counter part and she is just has nuts has those here." Onyx yawn. "Sorry, I'm resisting the urge to fall asleep." Tannasg frowned. "I for one am curious as to what my counterpart would be like. I do not know much about the alternate universe. Let alone the Romulans in that universe." "It makes us curious about the entire political situation there and yet, it would be a waste of time. We have enough of our own univers to take care of." Onyx look at the Dr Kincaid coming toward them. "I think that you are next Ensign Tannasg." Tannasg nodded, "Thanks for the 'chit-chit'" he tried to use a human expression he heard a few times. He asked, exuding sensuality and arrogance. "Yes. Everyone else is exhausted, and I thought of you. Vanyssa spoke of you as the most powerful telepath she knew. I am sure she would be grateful if you would come. Otherwise the doctor in sickbay thinks that she might die." Jennah knew that this wasn't entirely true, but it was possible that she might not ever wake up. "And she is needed here." And with that Jennah did break down into very artistic tears. David had told her that there were times to look helpless, in order to win. And to never let her real emotions cloud the job that she had to do. "What about her husband? Her Imzadi?" He said the word like it was a curse. "David is dead." And with that Jennah's tears went from artistic to real. She missed her father so much. Riven's dark eyes widened and he sat back in the chair. So he had watched her from afar, until she reached one of the most advanced classes in the Clinic, and he had to work with her one-on-one. Then he couldn't hide the way he felt about her. She hadn't been exactly receptive to it - she held herself aloof from the students, and didn't do the casual affairs of the students. He knew that he had overwhelmed her, and in the instant that their minds had joined that she was a virgin. He hadn't known that, and he could have kicked himself for not realizing it. He had backed off, and assigned her to another of the Instructors. But she continued to seek him out, spending time with him away from the others. She had told him that she had always been attracted to older men, and that she was flattered and thrilled that he found her attractive. A very intense friendship with somewhat sexual undertones had grown between them, an easy intimacy. And then she had left for the Academy, only to come back to Betazed for visits. She wrote him, and he her, all the time. She was one of those people who didn't tend to form casual friendships. But he hadn't found anyone else like her in all his time in the Clinic. The others were not special, not exceptional. Oh, now and then there was a strong telepath to come aboard, but no one with her strength. He shook his head, remembering a certain little blond girl who had come through about nine years ago...beautiful and incredible, but not Vanyssa. ::Helena, Cancel all my appointments and reassign my classes for the next couple of days:: He sent to his administrative assistant. He called up the Nimitz, and asked to speak with the Captain. After a few minutes the Captain came on the screen. He seemed oddly familiar to Riven, and he shook his head. "Captain, I am Dr. Riven Mias, Head of the Betazoid Clinic of Alura. We are the only clinic on Betazed to deal exclusively with what you might call 'mind-healing'. I have been informed by a rather unusual source that Vanyssa Winters is in need of assistance, and I would be honored to offer my help." Riven had played the political game long enough to curb his rather formidable arrogance around equals. (reply Sash) "It will be just me. I was one of Vanyssa's Instructors when she studied at the University here." He said, quietly, trying to appear unassuming. This Captain didn't need to know any more than that. In some ways it would make things easier, and in some harder. (reply) "I will be there within the hour then." Riven replied. "I will signal from the Transportation station." Riven closed the connection, and leaned forward, resting his chin on his hands. He shook his head, and walked over to his small closet. He changed quickly into the silken uniform of his office and braided his waist length fine black hair with tiny charms. His dark eyes were like gems in his pale face, and the black silken tunic and tight pants did nothing to hide his very good figure. ~Not bad for an old man of sixty.~ He thought with a smile that curved his generous lips upwards. Vanyssa had lost her Imzadi, and she would die without his help. There were worse things in the universe. He turned and strode forward to the transporter station. (Nimitz, Transporter Room, Dr. Riven MIas, 1600) Riven was met at the transporter room by a very attractive, shortish Betazoid that seemed familiar. "Dr Mias, I am Katharynne Troi, the schoolteacher on the Nimitz." Riven smiled cooly at her. He knew now why she was so familiar to him. She had the cheekbones and nose of the Troi Clan, but in other regards looked nothing like them. "I also attended your clinic while I studied on Betazed." The transporter room opened and another telepath, this one much stronger walked in. "And this is Ensign Lorenzo Salahari, the Assistant Counsellor on board the Nimitz. Lorenzo, this is Dr. Riven Mias, who we have been expecting." Katie finished. (reply Salahari, iyw) "Well, then I think we should get to Vanyssa." Katie spoke, ushering him out of the transporter room. ::What happened?:: Riven asked, sending to just the two of them. He saw Katie exchange a look with Salahari, wondering who should reply. (reply Salahari) ::the alter-Winters is in t he brig.:: Katie finished. ::I don't think it's been decided what to do with her.:: ::Fascinating.:: Riven spoke, as they entered sickbay. He was drawn to Vanyssa and the damage that was calling out to him. His mind was on her, and her alone. He looked her over impassively, and it looked to him like she had aged overnight. He had seen a picture of her only 8 months ago when she married David Dark. Riven realized that he was being introduced to the doctor. ~My god, he's huge!~ Riven thought to himself. It was rare for betazoids to be physically big. "A pleasure to meet you, Doctor." Riven said, shaking his hand. "If you would be so kind as to tell me what has been done for Miss Winters." (reply Kinkaid) Riven listened closely, and nodded. He saw a small brown head peek out of the Doctor's office, watching things rather intently. It must be the young woman who had contacted him. "The I think it is time for us to get to work." Riven nodded. "Doctor, if you would be so kind as to monitor our patient physically." Riven turned to Katie and Salahari. "The two of you are welcome to link in with me and watch the technique and assist as needed." Just a bit of his natural arrogance broke through then, and Riven saw Katie blush. (reply Kinkaid and Salahari) Riven sat down in the chair that had been provided for him, and made himself comfortable. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath and put himself into a trance in about four breaths. He reached out to the entities known as Katie and Salahari and drew them into a subservient, supportive position to him. They could see, but they couldn't interfere. He went down into the muddy murky energy known as Vanyssa and looked around. He saw lots of broken and damaged, half burnt links. He could see the barricaded core of who Vanyssa was, and the charred place that the entity had been burned out from. He knelt down beside the burned, almost dead spots, and held out his hands. Green mist fell from his hands, soaking into the parched earth of her mind, healing the cracks. After several moments, he felt the landscape begin to change as the mist penetrated deeper, healing the damaged spots. Beginning to heal, that is. Once he was done it would take months for it all to finish healing on a physical level. the foundation for the Healing had been laid, and the ground was fertile again. He took a deep breath and plunged deeper into her memories, seeing the broken and disjointed ones. He saw a large gap where the memories had been taken away, and he set about pushing the memories on both sides back together. The gap would still be there, but not as bad. As for the rest, he brought the broken ends of the memories back together and glued them back with blue fire from his finger. Everything on this level was subjective. He walked over to the barricaded place and knocked on the door. ::Vanyssa.:: He commanded, leaving no room for argument. ::Come here.:: He ordered, waiting for a moment until the 'force' inside her was ready to leave. He had set about shrinking the baricaded place, forcing the personality out. She weeped at him, throwing herself at his feet, begging him to let her go back and hide. Riven shook his head, leading her back to where she was supposed to be, and planting her there. He forced the "roots" of her personality to embed deep in her, and renew with the other connections in her. He felt himself loosing the edge of his power, and before he completely collapsed, he drew on the energy of the two telepaths and welded the various pieces of Vanyssa back onto her. He had to admit that it was a crude job, but he could fix it later. He opened his eyes, coming out of the trance rather quickly, and looked up at the bio monitor. His vision wavered, but he thought that it looked more normal. He would need a short nap before he could continue, but the others would need rest. "I would suggest." He spoke, his voice cracking with fatigue. "that the two of you go rest. I'll go back in as soon as I have and finish this." He rose and made his way quickly to the Quarters that had been assigned to him with the assistance of the security officer. The last thing he thought before his head hit the pillow was that he was getting too old for this. (reply those mentioned, any who wanna come play) (pb melinda)
